"Wearable vibrator" covers two quite different kinds of product:

1. Wear-around toys: a small vibrator worn in underwear (a "panty" vibrator) or an internal egg-style toy, usually controlled by a partner with a remote or app. Couples often use these for discreet play before sex.

3. LELO LYLA 2: longest published remote range

• What it is: LELO calls it a "Premium Remote-Controlled Bullet Vibrator". It's a small bullet designed to be passed to, or controlled by, a partner, rather than a clip-in panty toy.³
• Control: a SenseMotion remote that responds to movement, with a published range of up to 12 m (39 ft). The remote runs on 2×AAA batteries.³
• Battery: 2 h for the toy and 10 h for the remote. Standby is 90 days, and it switches off automatically after 20 minutes.³
• Noise: max. 50 dB.³

What to compare before buying

1. Remote range vs app range. A physical remote has a limited range. LELO publishes up to 12 m for LYLA 2.³ For We-Vibe's app, the company says to expect a stable Bluetooth connection "within 10ft (3 meters)" of the toy. 2. Waterproofing of the remote. Both We-Vibe wear-around toys pair an IPX7 toy with a splash-proof remote.¹² Keep the remote dry.

3. Run time. For wear-around play, run time matters more than for a quick session. Jive 2 lists up to 4 h, Moxie+ up to 2 h and LYLA 2 2 h.²¹³

4. Auto-off. LELO's 20-minute auto-off saves battery. For longer wear-around play, check how to restart it.³

5. Noise. Only LELO publishes a figure here (50 dB max for LYLA 2).³ We-Vibe describes Moxie+ as "whisper quiet" but gives no number.¹

6. Materials and lube. Choose toys with stated body-safe materials. All the We-Vibe models here state body-safe silicone.¹² Use water-based lube unless the manual says otherwise. We-Vibe and LELO both warn about silicone lubes on some silicone products.⁷⁸ See best water-based lubes.

Consent and public settings

Wear-around toys are often marketed for play "wherever you go".¹ Make sure both partners agree on when and where the remote is used, and that the wearer can stop at any time. Keep play private, and respect other people's right not to be involved.

Frequently asked questions

Do wearable vibrators need an app? No. Moxie+ and Jive 2 both include a physical remote, and LYLA 2 is remote-only on the page we checked.¹²³ The app adds control over distance.

Can I wear one in the shower? The We-Vibe toys are IPX7, but their remotes are only splash-proof. LELO describes LYLA 2 as "100% waterproof".¹²³

Which is the most discreet? None of the makers publish comparable noise figures except LELO (50 dB max for LYLA 2), so we can't rank them on noise.³
